At the top of the Fulcrum range, the Fulcrum Racing Speed 40C Carbon wheelset embodies the pinnacle of carbon wheel design. In this clincher iteration, they offer all the advantages of a grand tour-winning wheelset, with the added functionality of being compatible with clincher tires.
With a mid-depth carbon fiber rim, this wheelset balances aerodynamics and weight superbly. While the 40mm rim depth maximizes aero gains on flat and rolling terrain, weighing just 1400-grams, this wheelset remains incredibly responsive too. With a wider rim, this wheelset can also use wider tires to optimize grip, comfort and speed out on the road. Fulcrum has vastly improved the braking performance of the wheelset thanks to the application of AC3 technology on the braking track, so now you can stop when it matters.
These premium carbon rims are paired with a set of equally premium hubs. Using a carbon fiber shell, the front hub offers a significant reduction in weight, while the rear alloy hub has a high flange to ensure maximum power transfer. Both hubs are filled with adjustable USB ceramic bearings to ensure a silky smooth, race-winning spin that lasts. These hubs are laced to the rims via 18 double-butted stainless-steel spokes on the front and 21 on the rear, to ensure weight is kept to a minimum, without sacrificing wheel strength or stiffness.

Best wheels I have owned
If you ever needed a reason to get out of bed and go riding buy these wheels. I'm not joking. I used to think a50 or 60 k ride was enough but since getting these wheels it's transformed my bike and now 75 or a 100k with plenty of V is what I want. Buy them it's only money and you deserve the best. It's made riding for this 71 year old a hoot again. ( I do spend more time on the couch though )
